CHILD Center Programs

CHILD Center programs address the needs of children by training professionals, providing continuing education, and promoting systems change through projects utilizing multiple sources of funding - such as the Maternal & Child Health Bureau (MCHB), Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA), the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD), First 5 LA, and others.

CHILD Center Core Objectives

Access to Care - To promote access to comprehensive health care services for children with special health care needs

Interdisciplinary Leadership Development - To promote interdisciplinary leadership development for health professionals, parents and others serving children with special health care needs and their families

Interdisciplinary & Early Intervention Services - To develop and implement models of interdisciplinary and early intervention service for children with special health care needs
Program/Policy Development & Advocacy - To foster development of advocacy skills for parents and professionals and to influence policies which improve the system of health care for children with special needs and their families
