Promoting Optimal Health of Young Children with Spina Bifida and Their Families

First 5 LA funded the Learning and Growing Together program from March 2003 through May 2006. The program conducted multidisciplinary groups for young children with spina bifida and their parents, parent support groups, a family camp, educational conferences and workshops, as well as advocacy training for parents. The program published quarterly newsletters and a children's book called Right Under My Nose to help explain spina bifida to young children.
