Head Start and Early Head Start

Head Start and Early Head Start are comprehensive child development programs serving low income children from birth to age 5, pregnant women and their families. They are relationship-based, child and family focused programs with service delivery targeted to the unique cultural and community needs of these clients. They offer center-based, home-based and combination service options.

The overall goal of the program is to promote the social competence of children and families and increase the school readiness of young children in low income families. The ECCBP is currently contracted with 5 different Head Start Grantees representing 8 Early Head Start and 5 Head Start programs to provide mental health, nutrition, and health technical consultation and/or direct services.
