  Access To Care Minimize
Training professionals to deliver comprehensive care does not always assure that children receive that care. Families must also be able to access care within service systems that are often fragmented and difficult to navigate.

Several projects within the CHILD Center address these access to care issues, including a center-based Access to Care Clinic where the interdisciplinary team serves as consultants to families to determine the best care plans for their children based on previous clinical and educational assessments. Other projects target systems-improvement for particular groups of children, such as those with epilepsy (Access to Care: Children & Youth with Epilepsy in California), or Down Syndrome (Your Baby & Down Syndrome: Answers to Questions You Might Have Brochure).  Nutrition clinics, staffed by CHILD Center nutritionists in Calfornia Children’s Services (CCS – CA CSHCN Program), provide nutrition care that would not otherwise be available.
