Two at the Table DVD Minimize

The purpose of the Two at the Table DVD is to help interdisciplinary feeding teams enhance the behavioral-relational aspects of their approach to the assessment and treatment of children with special needs and feeding challenges. The DVD also provides a general overview of an interdisciplinary feeding team assessment and describes functional roles in the team assessment.

The stories of four children with feeding challenges are illustrated in the DVD in separate vignettes. The vignettes describe the medical and developmental issues that impacted the feeding development of each child, results of the team assessment, recommendations, and progress of intervention.

A fifth vignette, shows the “Lunch Bunch”- an interdisciplinary intervention where children simultaneously work on social, behavioral, and feeding skills in a group therapy scenario. A discussion about family-centered care and its application to nutrition and feeding providers serving families with children with special needs from the University of Washington is also included in the 40-minute DVD.

The USC UCEDD Feeding Development Clinic created this DVD with the support of two grants from HRSA and the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (#TO2MC0008701, #TO2MC004) and is collaborating on the dissemination with the University of Washington’s Center on Human Development and Disabilities as part of the Pacific West MCH Distance Learning Network (additional curricula available at
